The Hall is Warm!by Jennifer Rowlands - 14:07 on 02 February 2011Following installation of lots of radiators and the air source heat pump, the Hall is now warmer than it has been in many years!
Carbon Zero have done a great job installing radiators in the committee room, along the fire escape wall and the rear wall of the hall - it looks like a lot of radiators but there are so many because the air source heat pump heats the water to a lower temperature than a conventional boiler, and we have such a large space to heat, so we need lots of radiators. Despite there being lots of them, they are a lot less obtrusive than the old gas radiators that have been thankfully got rid of.
There is now also a rainwater harvesting tank in front of the toilet block, which is providing water to flush the loos.
Last time I looked we had generated over 60 KWH of electricity, which considering the weather and lack of sun in Llanbedr isn't bad at all.
Window and door installation should be starting on 14th Feb, so we are on the homeward stretch.
Thanks to everyone who has worked on the Hall thus far, and hoping lots of people turn up to our public meeting to create a new way forward for the Hall in March.
